He’s been growing cacti and succulents in Perkasie, PA, since the 1980s, turning his passion into decades of experience. George knows just about everything there is to know about these amazing plants, from how to grow them to how to make them shine in any setting.
As a cacti and succulent garden designer, George has teamed up with garden designers to help pick the perfect cacti and succulents for interior landscapes and installations. His creative touch has even been featured in incredible displays at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

While still in Arizona, Cacti Greenhouse supplied cacti for the Robert W. Montgomery Landscape Nursery's exhibit at the 1992 Philadelphia Flower Show Cactus Display; at the time the world's largest display of cactus and succulents, which took three years to plan. Cacti Greenhouse transported many of the 700 cacti shipped from the Southwest for the desert garden central feature. Giant cacti and yuccas were transported over 1,000 miles in heated trucks, wrapped in protective foam, and placed in large slings with braces and splints to keep the plants protected.

A Little About Us
Cacti Greenhouse started in the 1970s in Arizona, where our founder, Cacti George Hermann, first fell in love with these resilient and fascinating plants. George worked as a landscape and garden designer, creating stunning outdoor cactus gardens and teaching at the Arizona Cactus Society.
Fast-forward to 1989, when Cacti Greenhouse officially became a business. One of our proudest moments was helping with the 1992 Philadelphia Flower Show’s legendary cactus display—the largest of its kind in the world at the time. Moving giant cacti across the country wasn’t easy, but it was worth it to create something unforgettable.
In 2002, George saw an opportunity to bring his expertise to the Northeast and moved operations to Perkasie, PA, where we’ve been growing and thriving ever since.
